The Transition application is a Government of Ontario tool for on-boarding new members of parliament. The tool guides new members on how to do everything from getting a parking pass to planning a swearing in ceremony.
My Role
I was responsible for coding the entire frontend of the application, creating and ensuring accessibility measures, and testing and maintenance.
In the early stages of the project, I worked closely with the lead graphic designer on the project generating visual concepts. The goal was to create a clean, modern aesthetic, complementing the history of the Government of Ontario while modernizing the look and feel. Once the visual design was in place, I used HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript, and Jquery to create WordPress templates, and developed the frontend of the application.

DESIGN AND OUTPUT
RESULTS
Previously all on-boarding was completed through lengthy binders and handbooks. Digitizing all the information, allowing users to save, download, and prioritize content, and creating a space for note taking, made this an invaluable tool for parliament and has made the 2018 transition seamless.
